Chemical contamination of seeds

Impermeable Coatings for Seeds

Chemical contamination of seed is usually characterized by penetration of chemical substances into the seed, which clearly mark easy permeability of chemical substances into seeds. Thus in order to avoid seed contamination without compromising intensive farming methods, an impermeable eco-friendly coating must be applied over the seed. There is an urgent need to develop innovative impermeable coating for seed membrane that can avoid leaching of harmful chemical substances into seeds. Research in chemical substances for developing such impervious coatings over seed is need of the hour.
