Pay workers a living wage and cut expenses that are non-essential

Retail stores, restaurant chains, gas stations and other businesses that employ low paid service workers, should increase the hourly wages of workers substantially. The management and executive level typically earn very healthy salaries while the service workers struggle to just exist. The company may spend millions on remodels when their buildings don't need it, and dozens of other costly activities that are non-essential. Yet they don't pay decent wages. The welfare of their workers should be of highest priority.
