Innovative Solution for:

Unpredictability of earthquakes

Design buildings with slip pads.

In earth quakes, the main driver to design of foundations of buildings are the ability to withstand it. Many buildings are built to resist the motions of the earth movement. Many buildings are now being designed to slide with the moving earth. Houses can be designed with a foundation that is built on top of a slip pad. The main supports are not tied to the foundation, but allowed to move laterally in a box. The main support beam rests inside a preset box, the bottom of the support beam would be encased with a steel bracket, the bottom of the box would be a steel plate. If the earth starts to move, the support beam would be allowed to move a set distance with the earth shifting, thus saving the house from the lateral earth movements. The house would just slide on top of the earth staying stable.
