Recycling styrofoam packaging materials

Recycling Styrofoam part I

We have fabricated one hot hopper made from MS plate of 1.5mm thickens, which is fed from top, after it is heated to 170 Degrees. THe foam starts melting very fast and it flows through a bottom outlet in a dry tray. The trey has a shape of ice cube trey of a freezer, for automatic breaking after cooling down. Fire wood or waste flue gases can be used to heat the hopper. The melt is water clear solid of high density. It can be processed to make granules of polystyrene in bright colours. Possible contamination with dust due to styropore contamination can be avoided by breaking out the dirty part of foam before melting.
The process is highly profitable and eco friendly.
