Peace Journalism

Peace journalism, the brainchild of Johan Galtung, aims to foster empathy and peace among conflicting parties. It does this by examining each party's viewpoints, as well as the antecedents to conflict and burgeoning movements toward peace. Though the efficacy of such an approach has been questioned, overall peace journalism appears an appropriate alternative to its converse and has its best chance of success when highlighting the less controversial aspects of opposing parties' positions.
