Quiet Hybrids Pose Safety Threat to Blind Pedestrians and Children

Carmakers are working on a sensor that will sound off when animals or people are near

Although the technology has not yet been perfected, the solution is to have an automatic sound device go off, similar to motion sensor lighting, when people or animals are within a certain distance from a hybrid vehicle. Carmakers are working on this, and assuming we can move beyond the controversy (some hybrid owners are opposed to it) it should be easily implemented. The noise-emitting feature may eventually become a requirement mandated by the government.
