Exercise Consistently and Avoid Injuries from "Weekend Warrior Syndrome"

Weekend Warrior Syndrome refers to people who have limited physical activity throughout the week (usually due to their jobs and lifestyles) and then on the weekend go out for vigorous recreation.

Often these people get physically injured in the process. The body is extremely sedentary during the week, and then gets completely jarred on the weekend with something like water skiing or high impact sports. Problems from this type of vigorous weekend activity includes Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness, rotator cuff tears and medial epicondylitis (tennis elbow)

Adults need to remember to exercise consistently throughout the week to increase muscular strength and endurance. Stretching, strengthening and conditioning all week long are crucial.
