Poppy for Medicine in Afghanistan

The US and Afghan governments should reconsider the Senlis proposal from 2005. "Poppy for Medicineā€ would help farmers to diversify their crops and be part of a legal pharmaceutical trade. The Senlis Initiative would deprive terrorists of income, improve the Afghan economy and keep heroin away from addicts and dealers. Crops would be used for legitimate medical purposes for people in 3rd world countries.
