Part of the problem with irresponsible media in the 24 hour news cycle is that people have begun to rely on networks like CNN to bring them all the news that they need. We may never get the news reported 100% accurately; however, we can control how much importance we place on the cable news and the facts we receive from these sources. We need to re-educate our children (and our adults for that matter) that all news is not conveyed through cable news networks and that to accurately understand current events a variety of sources must be referred to- including magazines, radio, web news, etc.
