Interventions are a widely known and accepted way to deal with addicts. The intervention process effectively addresses drug addicts, food addicts, alcohol addicts and many other types of addicts as well. The cable network A&E has a television program called "Intervention" which does a great job profiling how an intervention works and how it can positively impact the life of an addict. Part of the process involves the friends and family of the addict getting together and confirming that they will no longer support the lifestyle of the addicted individual.
