Known Solution for:

Decline in civic participation

The internet as a tool for civic involvement

Civic participation used to be on a face to face basis, at the corner coffee shop or standing out on main street. Now people tend to be sequestered in disconnected neighborhood enclaves, not connected to a central information source. The internet can be a replacement for main street, kind of like an Internet Main Street. Using radio, TV or new copy, people can be advised to check online for information, and from there they will know what opportunities are available for involvement.
