The do not call database has been a mild success on keeping phone numbers and telemarketing at bay. The calls have been restricted to memebers on the do not call list. This list is has exceptions to charity groups, people in debt, and other loop holes which can allow access to a caller. A solution is to unlist your number to random numbers, do not make it public through the telephone book. Unfortunately, the telemarkets are scanning and inputing the "white pages" from the phone book into a database to have to be subjected to the autocallers. The second solution is to move away from the typical outdated phone line to internet/digital calling though local cable or other services. The number can become unlisted through the net call lines and will not go though the traditional hard wire line.
