VoxelVision Software for 3D Object Segmentation
General Information
VoxelVision is imaging software that interactively segments and displays images of 3D anatomy derived from MRI, CT, or ultrasound scans. While other 3D imaging software is available, it is either too simplistic or takes too long to be of value. VoxelVision works with a few mouse strokes and is less prone to error. This is the first program to utilize algorithms that provide segmented images of previously hard to isolate tissues in an interactive fashion. Its interactive 3D renderings of anatomy are the first of its kind.
10 years ago BYU developed Intelligent Scissors, which has been featured in Adobe Photoshop as “Magnetic Lasso”, is used to segment objects out of 2D images. VoxelVision does for image volumes what Intelligent Scissors does for images.
VoxelVision peels away anatomical layers at interactive rates, making the mouse an intelligent scalpel, peeling back only the tissue types currently being sampled.
The Market
Live Surface could also be applied to any application using image volume. Applications including video, entertainment, special effects, movies, desktop publishing, geological exploration, scientific visualization and other related research.
