Immunoaffinity Fluorometric Biosensor

The Immunoaffinity Fluorometric Biosensor is a hand-held, self-contained, automatic, low-power and rapid sensor platform for detecting and quantifying a plurality of analytes.

This sensor platform (with the appropriate modifications) has been used to detect low levels of NADH; poly aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs); and aflatoxin, the fungus-produced carcinogen found in peanuts, corn, and other grains. The biosensor operates on the principles of immuno-affinity for specificity and fluorescence for a quantitative assay. It uses recent developments in electro-optical components, electronics, and miniaturized fluidics.
