Acoustics Doppler Profiler for Moored and Underway Current Profiling

Description:
Design Acoustics Doppler Profiler devices that can profile water currents up to 15m depth, with bin size not exceeding 25cm. Demonstrate profilers that can operate at frequencies larger than 1000 KHz, and can resolve water currents in 3D. Accepts information from external gyro or compass, where the accuracy of the compass installed gets affected by the magnetic interference of the vessel. Bottom tracking in up to 15m depth, capability to amalgamate positioning information into underway profile data, an effective battery source that powers the moored application, are some of the other structural aspects of the technology. The software requirements include- compatibility with Windows XP and Vista operating systems, an interactive GUI to communicate and operate the device, real time current velocity updates.
