Boost Your Creativity with Beer

pr4Has the long-lost Holy Grail been finally found?  No, not that one.  We’re talking about a beer that can help you think more creatively to solve your problems.

Sure, imbibing lots of beers over the years can be ruinous to health, but the makers of The Problem Solver beer claim that a little of their brew can help drinkers reach their creative peak.

This is how they are able to make their bold assertion:

A scientific study has shown that the average person produces their most creative thinking at an alcohol level of 0.075%.  And as we know, everyone as a different alcohol tolerance level depending on their weight and body size. Accordingly, each bottle of the Indian Pale Ale comes with a scale. All you have to do is drink the amount that fits your weight, and when you hit the 0.075%, stop drinking and start thinking.

Obviously, there are certain pitfalls to hitting the bottle.  If you go over your limit, the thinking may become a little muddled and hazier, and produce exactly the opposite effects of the one you want.

Research

To determine the right amount of beer that will get the cogs firing on all cylinders, scientists from the University of Illinois at Chicago conducted an experimemt.  One set of participants whose blood alcohol level (BAC) was slightly under 0.8% performed better in a creative task than an intoxicated group.

Of course the proof is not conclusive, but it may be a fun experiment to see if the researchers’ results can be replicated.
