Crowdsourcing is relatively new to India, but it’s embracing the concept with vigor. Businesses are eager to learn more about what it can do for them and the government has already flirted with initiatives.
This has included crowdsourcing the Indian rupee symbol where a new representation was chosen from thousands of submitted new designs.
Now, there are plans to crowdsource the country’s national anthem.
Called ‘My Nation, My Anthem’, the project wants filmmakers, musicians and singers to create their own interpretations of the anthem.
Creating an Anthem for a Big Stage
Shortlisted winners will then work with an expert panel to create a new film, set to a new tune and sung by new voices. It will be shown at cinemas before the main movie.
The idea is to come up with a lively and engaging new rendering and to give people a sense of ownership over their heritage.
‘My Nation My Anthem’ is a collaboration between Talent house India, Rising Sun Films and Rampage Motion Pictures.
Speaking on the launch of the country’s new crowdsourcing initiative, Talenthouse India CEO Arun Mehra said, “We are incredibly excited to launch My Nation My Anthem.
“At Talenthouse, we believe that crowdsourcing has a unique power to bring out the best talent. This project is even more special as it is an inclusive initiative that every Indian will be inspired by.”
