Global Program to Recognise Ingenious Urban Solutions

April 5, 2012 By IdeaConnection

It’s an exciting time for innovators. The Financial Times and Citi are on the hunt for individuals or organisations that have devised, developed and implemented solutions to key urban challenges.

The winners of The FT/Citi Ingenuity Awards: Urban Ideas in Action will be in line for major public recognition and will be presented with their awards at an awards dinner in New York in December 2012.

If you’ve come up with ideas that have tackled such problems as traffic congestion, substandard housing or pollution, for example, then this could be for you.

The awards are open to any person, group or organisation anywhere in the world that can demonstrate how their original and practical solutions are making a positive impact and answering the evolving needs of their city’s inhabitants.

Awards are going to be handed out for ideas in action in four sectors:

  • Education
  • Energy
  • Healthcare
  • Infrastructure

In addition, there will be an award for the best overall idea.

“Our 200th anniversary coincides with the rising importance of cities, and we are excited to recognize the passionate individuals whose ideas are fueling growth and economic progress in these urban centers,” said Citi CEO Vikram Pandit.

Deadline for Entries

If you want to take part in this exciting project and think your idea is in with a shout, you can enter by filling in an entry form here.  Submissions must be received by April 30th.
