Innovative Non-profit Seeking Sponsorship

January 31, 2011 By Aminda

Reconstructed Living Lab (RLabs) a non-profit organization working to impact, empower and reconstruct local and global communities through innovation, is currently seeking sponsorship of their new work space. They are inviting individuals, businesses and organizations to have their name engraved on the walls of different rooms of the RLabs Space.

Sponsorship opportunities range from $5,000 to sponsor the Business and Entrepreneurship Space to $10,000 to have a name attached to the Open Innovation Space.  “In the OI space alone we reach more than 250,000 people via mobile phone services,” says the RLabs site “and it’s the open space where the community can be part of the Social Revolution. The Open Innovation Space will have thousands of visitors annually from all over the world.”

RLabs, based in Cape Town, South Africa, has received global press for offering local and global communities an opportunity to enhance their skills through the use of various technology programs specially developed to support the needs of the citizens. In other words, they offer social media-heavy computer classes that encourage former drug users and gang members to embrace tools such as twitter and Facebook as a means of changing their lives.

Their JamiXX platform, developed to manage multiple mobile chat and mobile social networks, is available to organizations around the world. At RLabs, the platform allows eight counselors to have 300 IM conversations in one hour, greatly increasing their ability to assist teens and adults who call in to get help with substance abuse and other issues. For the World Health Organization, it communicates emergency preparedness information to disaster-prone areas in Southeast Asia, aiding their ability to save lives.

The organization, founded in 2007, opened its first franchise in Portugal in 2010, and has plans to expand to several locations this year. Sponsoring organizations can help make that possible.
