For this essay challenge EULAR have invited people living with rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (RMDs) to share their personal experience of working – whether it be paid work, voluntary work or looking after the family and a household.
EULAR would like people with RMDs to discuss what measures, aids and actions their employers have provided them with and their employer’s attitude. The essay should include ideas of support and facilities that an ideal employer can offer to an employee with RMDs in order to make work more accessible and manageable. Entrants can include personal views on social welfare and the influence of their disease on family and work.
The Edgar Stene Prize will be awarded to the winning essay at the Opening Plenary Session of the forthcoming European Congress of Rheumatology in Madrid, Spain, on 12 June 2019.
