ABSTRACT:
‘Driver less Car’. The first question is why we use / depend on Car? For movement of men / material from one place to other the vehicles are used, particularly, the car has to be driven by Driver / Owner. Instead, we can undertake a project with which, transportation can be possible with the help of software operation totally.

1. WHY DO YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS CHALLENGE? *

I had developed a concept for 'public transportation', which is totally software operated.
In other words, it is a 'driver less car'.
Traffic jam is a common problem in almost all the cities in the world.
Fly cars project will be one of the answers for traffic jams / travel / fatigue.
It is a non-linear mode of transportation, i.e., above buildings & structures, in other words it is an aerial (distance) travel in the congested City areas. The aerial distance to be travelled from one place to other will be far less when compared to road distance. With this project, fossil fuels (petrol, diesel, etc) consumption will be drastically minimized. A lot of time will be saved for commuters. In cities like Chennai, Bangalore the Metro Railway system is doing very good service in catering the public transport. Escalators, Elevators, vertical Passenger Lifts, etc are in the service of public to take them up, high places like Metro Railway stations, different floors of the buildings. Need: - from Metro Railway stations to their colonies, places of residence/business, people have to walk for 2 to 3 kms. Or depend on other means of transportation like 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers, buses, etc. It is creating traffic jams and heavy consumption of fossil fuels (petrol, diesel, etc).
To take the public from metro railway station to their colonies, the fly car project is designed. In this system, the tower crane mast and jib is used. Vertical lifts are used for taking the load up and transfer to tower crane jib. Roller coaster technology is used for horizontal to & fro movement of 20 seated crucible. / Car (1.5 ton weight, appx)
This (totally software operated) fly car project can do 24 hours service, cargo handling during night time, vegetables / cargo from outskirts of city to apartment "collection centers" so that public can get at their door step in the morning. With the surrounding metal pillars of a building / apartment, we can arrange the jib rotating mechanism on the building top. Tower crane masts can be installed on the traffic islands like “Effil” towers design. With this project satellite town ships can be extended in the nearby districts of the city, because journey time / problems are solved to a large extent. We can start personalized services with advance journey reservation, e-ticketing, resulting in usage of two wheelers / three wheelers / four wheelers and public transport can be drastically minimized.


2. WHY DO YOU THINK YOU CAN COMPETE SUCCESSFULLY? *

The Challenge is ‘Driver less Car’. The first question is why we use / depend on Car? For movement of men / material from one place to other the vehicles are used, particularly, the car has to be driven by Driver / Owner. Instead, we can undertake a project with which, transportation can be possible with the help of software operation totally.
I had already done a lot of home work on this project, since long time. (1) Supplier - Chinese Tower Crane Company is ready with schematic diagram. (2) Designer - American Company is ready with quotation. (3) Customer - TTD is ready for its usage, provided, this project is certified / assured for its technical / commercial viability by Chartered Engineers / Institutions in India.
At present Tower Cranes are used for Material handling at large construction sites only. With this Project (custom modified Tower Crane), it can be used for Public Transportation everywhere and we can expect unlimited demand all over the world.

TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams) is now seriously searching 'WAYS & MEANS' to take Pilgrims (nearly 1, 00,000 per day) from Railway Station to Pilgrim Amenity Centers / Foot Hills without disturbing the Traffic in Tirupati.

Deliverable story: - FATIGUE / STATE OF MIND
In Tirupati, most of the Pilgrims are arriving through Trains. Trains are reaching Tirupati Railway Station, in the morning hours, 04.00 a.m. to 08.00 a.m. At that time the Passengers feel fatigue, tiredness due to train journey during night, etc and wish to go to accommodation as early as possible and get fresh up.
But in practice what is happening, Passengers getting train in the Railway station, crossing foot-over bridge through steps, getting down to 1st Platform and coming out of station with their luggage in hands, along with old aged, children and women family members.
When they come out of Railway station, they will be surrounded by auto-walas, taxi-walas, most of them who ready to demand more money / cheat.
Whereas, if this project is available it will be of good use to all of them. There will no human interference for transportation in this Project.

As soon as Passengers are getting down from the train, 20-seater trolley is readily waiting for them on the Platform. When they occupy, it will start its journey, and second trolley will readily occupy the boarding place, and this process will continue for all the thousand and odd passengers without any gap. For this hundreds of trolleys are kept ready folded in racks near foot over bridge on the Platform.
As soon as, the 20-passengers occupy the seats it starts its journey with totally software Technology (by Vertical Lifts, Roller Coaster, Rope Way, etc) and take them to their destinations comfortably.
In other words we are using Driver less cars. Traffic Jam will not be there, as we transport them non-linearly, that means, above Buildings / Structures. If at all there will be rush, it will be taken care by the software / technology.

3. BRIEFLY DESCRIBE YOUR TECHNICAL APPROACH TO THE CHALLENGE
With little modifications in the Tower Crane design and INTEGRATION with latest available Technologies in Vertical Lifts, Rope Ways, Roller Coasters, etc we can use them in Public Transportation.
The work of a Tower Crane is decentralized. The works of ‘Jib’ is only rotation and movement of crucibles horizontally and transfer the crucibles to other jib.
For this, select four or five buildings having third or fourth floor, in the Metro Railway Station area around the jib radius. Area required for two parallel lifts and top floor can be owned, hire or take on lease rent for longer period like 10 to 30 years. Passengers board the crucible in the ground floor, the crucible lifted to top floor through lift and wait for its turn in the rack, to pick up by tower crane jib. The jib picks up the crucible moves it horizontally to its end the transfers to other jib. The crucible continues its movement and reaches other end of the jib and again transfers to third jib. This process continues till the crucible reaches its destination.
As per the technical data available the jib of a tower crane is having maximum reach of 100 meters and maximum lifting power is 18 tons. Whereas, the load we are giving to jib is around 2 tons only (20 passengers @ 50 kgs on average).
Distance calculation;
The jib is only a radius, when we take it as diameter its reach is 100+100=200 meters. In the aerial distance of one kilometer we have to install (1000 meters / 200) five tower cranes.

Weight calculation;
@ 50 kg per passenger (say, male = 60 to 70 kg and female = 30 to 40 kg and on average it is 50 kg). For 20 passengers it comes to 20*50 = 1000 kg = 1 ton. Whereas, the tower crane lifting capacity is 18 tons. So, we can increase the number of passengers, or if possible, we can increase the reach of jib as we are using the jib in diameter i.e., on two sides.

The JIB tip end should be locked to Building Top, and then only, we allow -- Horizontal movement of Load, 20-Passenger filled Crucible / Trolley, slides on rails from JIB tip End to Tower Crane Mast, then, Lock open, JIB takes needed rotation (say) 180 Degrees, then lock to other 'Building Top' on other side area, and then only we allow the load for Horizontal movement, from Tower Crane Mast to JIB Tip end and slides on rails to Pick up Centre on Building Top and Passengers will go down through Lifts.
In this case, Passengers Travel distance in air is only 100 + 100 = 200 Meters ‘to & from' , whereas, in road distance, they might have crossed 3 to 5 Kilometers Road distance, from one place to other place.

4. DO YOU SEE SCOPE FOR SOME ORIGINAL FIRST-TIME-TO-WORLD IDEAS EMERGING FROM YOUR APPROACH OR WILL YOU ADAPT EXISTING IDEAS/TECHNOLOGIES TO COME UP WITH SOLUTIONS TO THE CHALLENGE. EXPLAIN? *

I am adapting existing ideas / technologies to come up solutions to the challenge. This Project is not developing any new Technologies. It is only INTEGRATION of latest available Technologies in Tower Cranes, Vertical Lifts, Rope Ways, Roller Coasters, etc.
This is a new mode of Transportation. No other mode of transport can move men / material with this speed. Of course, Helicopters can do to some extent. But they are not economical / technically feasible. In this project most of the public will be allowed to have share in this Project, in one form or other and hence a sense of responsibility / ownness will prevail in Society. Decentralization of Finance: In this project we can offer Business Partnership or share holding to all the Public who are having and willing, high rise buildings, apartments, commercial buildings, in the 360 degrees diameter area of a Tower Crane Jib length (say 100 meters = 330 ft). Their individual investment will be very low. We use only "Building Top" area for landing / boarding Public and come down through external Lifts. They can get fixed (nominal) income on their investment and variable income on the traffic, that particular Pick-up Centre handling due to its location.
At present In Tower Cranes, Counter weight is used, to hold the JIB and also to lift the Load at
JIB tip end. Instead, we use JIB in Diameter, i.e., on two sides of the Mast. Whereas, in our project, there will be no need to lift the load. Load is already taken up by the Lifts to the Pick-up Centers on the Building Top. The work of TowerCrane is only to pick up that load for horizontal movement from its JIB tip end to its Mast near, rotate and again move the load back to the other end (tip) at some other location.

After the JIB in Diameter (two sides of Tower Crane Mast) lock to Pickup Centre on Building Top and become foot over bridge for safety, the loads take horizontal movement from Building Top (from Lift Plat form – Pick up Centre) to Tower Crane Mast near.
Then JIB takes needed rotation (say 90 degrees) and lock to pick up Centers on Building Top at other Location. Then loads take horizontal movement and reach lift plat form to come down through External Lifts.

5. WHAT OBSTACLES DO YOU ENVISAGE IN COMPLETING THE CHALLENGE?*

PROBLEMS / DRAW BACKS & SOLUTIONS
Legal – KEVET
In future any individual can go to Court, saying, “stop” the slicing in the air (Say at 100 ft height) above his property. To face this type of hazards we have to take care in advance, by taking necessary legal help from a leading Supreme Court Lawyer, as our Consultant / IIT Mumbai, ecel, https://www.lawkonect.com/. We have no need to pay money in advance, rather if he accepts; we can offer him with Business Partnership. This will give good results.
We have to convince the Public / Authorities - by explaining the details about;
Fast extinct Fossil fuels (Petrol, Diesel, etc). We are importing more than 90% of our requirement by paying huge foreign exchange and also about ‘Rupee’ Value fall in International Market.
Public Time saving by avoiding Traffic / Travel / Fatigue, etc - No other mode of Transport can move men / material at this speed , as this Project uses non - linear mode of Transportation, i.e., above buildings / structures.
Necessary legislation has to be made in view of the benefits from this Project, like Public Time saving, Fossil fuel saving, Pollution control, etc.
Secondly, for example, it is well known from dailies that ‘Wall mart’ Company, from America had spent more than Rs.125 Crs for lobbying Members of Parliament to enter into Indian Markets. Like that, Vehicle Manufacturers may jeopardize this Project Execution as this may affect their future demand.

6. WHAT SORT OF SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES WILL YOUR TEAM BRING TO THE TABLE? *

PERSISTENCE through Odds in implementing the Project.

The entire notes abstract for this Project, I had prepared based on ‘End user Imagination’ only. From time to time my friends, Professors in Engineering Colleges encouraged & tendered their personal opinions while drafting this abstract at different stages at different times at different levels and contacts.
Deliverables Story: - ‘End User Imagination’ story:-
Ramesh is a soft ware Engineer in Chennai, planned to visit Tirumala Hills coming Saturday. So, he booked Darshan Tickets through TTD web site. He also reserved accommodation for two days stay at Tirumala Hills.
On Saturday morning at 06.00 a.m. Ramesh started from Chennai in his car along with his family members. They reached Tirupati by 10.00 a.m. After reaching Alipiri, Ramesh approached TTD Information & facilitation Centre. He showed the print-outs of Darshan & Accommodation reservation details and his Identity Card. After checking the details, the counter staff gave him an application for filling up and submit along with a deposit amount of Rs.5,000/-. He filled the details and deposited the cash through his credit card. After receiving the money, the counter staff handed over to Ramesh, the re-charge card of Rs.5, 000/- and 'Remote Control'. It is table top diary sized. He was allotted Trolley No.525. One of the counter staff came to car and took left hand thumb impression of all the family members. Ramesh thanked them for their hospitality, guidance and returned to his car. He drove the car and parked the car, on trolley No.525 and all the members continued sitting in the Car.
He scribed the recharge card in the remote control. It got activated, and a dialogue box appeared. "Hearty Welcome for Lord's Darshan" and asked for selecting the option, where they want to go. When Okayed for accommodation, the security plugs, chains locked the car to the trolley. After completing the security formalities, the trolley moves forward slowly, and picked up speed. Ramesh and family members astonished for the technology usage and enjoyed the journey. During the journey, his daughter Teja opened the Remote Control and selected Hotel and menu and time for serving and Okayed. The trolley reached the accommodation and stopped. They alighted the car, took their luggage and went to reception counter. His son, Karthik put the recharge card in the required slot. After verifying the details the counter staff handed over the register for signature. Ramesh completed the formalities, and they reached allotted room. His wife Vijaya opened the door through thumb impression, and they entered.
By the time all the family members got fresh up, the remote control is giving signal that the car is waiting at Reception to go for Hotel. They come out of the room, locked and boarded the car. They Okayed to go to hotel. After getting locked the car to trolley, the trolley moved slowly, reached the hotel.
We can proudly say, although they are sitting in their car, the car completes its movement on Tirumala Hills without Driver.

7. WHAT EXTERNAL HELP (OUTSIDE OF YOUR TEAM) DO YOU THINK YOU WILL NEED TO COMPLETE THE CHALLENGE? *
Financial Support to make payment to American Company for designing - preparation of 'Virtual Proto Type' model to send multiple prospects like Authorities, Investors, Customers, etc
The Call for Team Leaders / Entrepreneurs / Successors.
Call for Energetic Successors in this world of Competition "Differentiate or Die".
All M. Tech / B. Tech – Mechanical, Electrical, Computers, Soft ware developers / designers – Manufacturers / Traders - who wish to join as Team Members / Team Leaders.

Example: -
In Dadar Railway Station from the top of foot-over-bridge (through which Public use to cross the Platforms) to Dadar Bus Stop the Road distance (say) 1 K.M. (1,000 Meters). The aerial distance (say) 100 Meters. We can shift Public by modified Tower Cranes and save their time & energy and thus we get Business.
At a later stage, there is possibility for unlimited Power Generation in this Project.
We have to get C A D D Design,
Pro to type Model preparation – to convince Venture Capitalists / Investors (Total Project Cost Estimate is Rs.10 Cr.) and concerned Authorities for necessary permissions.
A very little Seed Capital for the above works which we can share / contribute.
Business Plan (General):-
It is very very difficult to install, operate and successfully execute the first Fly Car Mast. It will be a little difficult for the first 5% Fly Cars.
But after successful completion / operation of the Fly Cars, we have to gear-up ourselves to cope up the demand worldwide.
Business Plan (Particular):-
T.T.D. (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams), is the Office of Lord Balaji, the richest God in the world. The receipts through Offerings by Pilgrims is INR 2.5 Crs. (USD $ 4, 17,000) per day. Lord Balaji's shrine is situated on Tirumala Hills, 25 km from Tirupati, India.
Daily 1,00,000 people are pouring in to Tirupati from all over India / world, through Railways / Buses and going up hills by walk / vehicles.
This is creating heavy Traffic Jam Problem in Tirupati. Tirupati is a small City with 5 km radius, highly congested locality in Railway Station / Bus Station area. Now, TTD is seriously searching ways & means to take Pilgrims to up hills from Railway Station without much disturbing Tirupati Roads.
There are five Pilgrim Amenity Centers in the vicinity / around Railway Station to cater Pilgrims and they can accommodate 10,000 people only.
We can use this Project and serve the Pilgrims, by shifting men / material comfortably.

8. HOW DO YOU PLAN TO FINANCE YOUR PARTICIPATION? *

At present I am working as an Accountant in a small factory with meager salary.
I cannot spare money from my Pocket. I am ready to work full time on this Project.

In this project we can offer Business Partnership or share holding to all the Public who are having and willing, high rise buildings, apartments, commercial buildings, in the 360 degrees diameter area of a Tower Crane Jib length (say 100 meters = 330 ft). FLY CAR REVENUE CALCULATIONS:-

Tower Crane and Other Equipment Cost Rs.10 Cr. = 10, 00, 00,000/-
Life for 8 years = 8 x 365 days = 2,920 days
Working Hours @ 10 hours per day = 2,920 days x 10 hours = 29,200 hours
(say) one crucible / car can transport 20 passengers and Ticket Rs.10/- per head
then, Rs.10/- x 20 passengers = Rs.200/- per trip.
@ 4 crucibles it can dispense at a time, (say, 10 minutes per dispense)
Per hour = 4 x (60 minutes / 10) = 24 dispenses
Per day for 10 hours = 240 dispenses
Number of passengers per day = 240 x 20 = 4,800 nos
Revenue per day = Rs.10/- per ticket x 4,800 passengers = Rs.48, 000/-
Revenue for 8 years = Rs.14 Crs. (=2,920 days x Rs.48, 000/- per day = Rs.14, 01, 60,000/-)
Fixed Investment is Rs.10 Cr. and Revenue Rs.14 Cr. in 8 years.
Notes: - Working Hours taken 10 Hours only per day. But Public Transportation and Cargo Transportation can undertake for 24 hours of the day.
As occupancy rate will be less in slack period, hence, the working hours taken for calculations is 10 hours per day.

--Driverless Car Facility is offered to those commuters who have share holding (cash / kind) above Rs.5 lacs in this Project, under Decentralization of Finance Scheme, are eligible. Secondly, by paying Taxi charges one can avail this facility. Others can avail Public Transportation facility
-- Ramesh is a Bank Officer. His Bank is located at Parrys (Chennai) in four storied Building. He is staying at CMBT area, in his own Apartment. It is a six storied Building in a posh locality.
On Monday morning he wants to go his work. He walked to Lift area and put his left hand Thumb in the bio-metric slot on touch screen near lift. His Account is opened. His journey details, his reserved Seat number, etc displayed. He Okayed. Then Lift door is open. He came to Building Top and occupied his seat in the trolley.
It is highly comfortable; it is designed like Executive Seat in Flight, almost independent like his own Office Cabin and having very less disturbance from others. The trolley is having Internet / Restaurant facility. Few other Passengers, staying in the same building and also in nearby area / Buildings, came and occupied their seats. At 08.30 the Trolley starts its Journey from Parry’s area to CMBT. It takes one hour forty five minutes.
By 09.45 the Trolley reaches the Building Top in CMBT area where his Bank is situated and stopped. He got down and went to his cabin.
In the Cyber Tower Buildings there may be around 5,000 working people, visitors and others staff members. Daily at 08.00 A.M. people are ‘coming in’ and ‘going out’ from 05.00 to 06.00 p.m. daily. All these people are coming from different parts of Hyderabad, sub-urban, etc. But, all the people are moving around Bus Stops, Entering Gates only, which are using nearby Roads. This resulting in Traffic Jam. Instead, Commuters want to go the Cyber Tower buildings coming through Metro Rail, can be picked up and land on Buildings Top through this Fly Cars Project. 20 Passenger loaded Crucibles can be transported on Metro Rail ‘Trolleys’ and when reach destination, they can be lifted through Scissors lifts to required height and then picked by Tower Cranes for horizontal movement and landing on nearby Building Tops.

10. WHY DO YOU THINK YOUR SOLUTION/INNOVATION WILL BENEFIT INDIA/AN INDIAN CUSTOMER? *
A great saying:
Three (3) stupid stages in LIFE.
Teenage - have TIME & ENERGY but no MONEY.
Working Age - have MONEY & ENERGY but no TIME
Old Age - have TIME & MONEY but no ENERGY.
---- and most of the population on the earth is in the Working age
If we can show the way to save their time, at least their 'Journey Time' (save from Traffic Jam and fatigue), it will be fantastic, and our Business will be a successful proposition, in the world.

Why Traffic Jam Occurs?
Roads are designed to handle certain level of traffic – Vehicular / Human.

In due course, there will be increase in users, vehicles, and timing
(People want to use the roads at the same time in their hurry.), etc.

In this project we use the Buildings / Apartments “Building Top” as our landing / boarding place. Hence, we can reduce the congest on the roads.
Every Building whether it is 2 floors, 5 floors or 10 floors will have a Building Top which is lying idle.
It is very very difficult to install, operate and successfully execute the first Fly Car Mast. It will be a little difficult for the first 5% Fly Cars. But after successful completion / operation of the Fly Cars,

Fast extinct fossil fuels (petrol, diesel, etc) consumption is main concern to India & world. We are importing more than 90% of our OIL requirements from foreign countries, by paying huge Foreign Exchange. It is resulting in drastic ‘down fall’ of 'Rupee' value in International market.
Secondly, whether, people accepts or not, the fact is that the Country, America is so developed in world, it is because of the reason, that the Indian Intellectual brain is behind it in the form of Jobs / Opportunities abroad for Indian Youth.
Now, we had realized the truth and start offering Opportunities here to utilize their Intelligence for Indian growth.
This mission, Driver less Car Challenge will be a tomorrow necessity to implement not only India, but also in the entire world.
It is very very difficult to install, operate and successfully execute the first Fly Car Mast. It will be a little difficult for the first 5% Fly Cars.
But after successful completion / operation of the Fly Cars,
We have to gear-up ourselves to cope up the demand worldwide
Travel / Fatigue /Traffic / Traffic Jam Problem is the order of the day in almost all cities of the world.
The execution of this Project will change and entire scenario not only in India but also in the world, like decrease in the usage / dependency on the vehicles. Possibility in Pollution Control more effectively, drastic reduction in the usage of fossil fuels world-wide.
The most important thing is that: we can save a lot of travel time for Public / commuters, as this is the non-linear mode of transportation, i.e., above buildings / structures.
No other mode of Transport can move men / materials with this speed in congested City areas.
Why Traffic Jam Occurs?
Roads are designed to handle certain level of traffic – Vehicular / Human.
In due course, there will be increase in users, vehicles, and timing
(People want to use the roads at the same time in their hurry.), etc.
In this project we use the Buildings / Apartments “Building Top” as our landing / boarding place. Hence, we can reduce the ‘congest’ on the roads.
Every Building whether it is 2 floors, 5 floors or 10 floors will have a ‘Building Top’ which is lying idle.

With this project execution;
 Traffic Jam problem can be solved.
 Fossil Fuels (Petrol / Diesel), etc can be saved. -- We are very well know that –
