The SpoutOff - Clean Your Rain Gutters from the Safety of the Ground

The 2 MOST important things The SpoutOff will do are: (1) Save homeowners from potentially serious ladder related injuries, and (2) Make an important but difficult and dangerous home maintenance task easy, fast, safe and inexpensive. Saving time and eliminating the risk of injury are VERY exciting to me.

I attended Villanova University, and have Marketing and Sales experience. I am a homeowner who is not fond of climbing ladders, a homeowner with lots of trees and lots of debris in rain gutters, a person who likes to think in terms of SOLUTIONS... and I did with The SpoutOff.

In thinking about my rain gutter problem I came to realize it was not about the debris that was in my gutters, it was really about the CLOGGED OUTLET... where the gutter empties into the downspout. I knew if I could keep the outlet clear water would ALWAYS flow out of my gutter because water would flow under and around debris in the gutter and OUT a clear outlet. Properly flowing rain gutters are ALL ABOUT CLEAR OUTLETS!

You see, if the outlet is clear in a rain gutter water will ALWAYS flow out of that gutter even if there is debris in the rest of the gutter. Conversely, a rain gutter could be perfectly clean but if the outlet is clogged (think tennis ball, bee hive, etc.) water will NEVER flow out of that gutter, NEVER.

Understanding this, it became a matter of figuring out how to keep the outlets clear. Because downspouts are so light (2 story only weighs 6 pounds) it became obvious that taking the downspout down and cleaning the outlet out DOWN ON THE GROUND was the answer.

After a number of experiments the Spout, Off, Base and Clip were designed, engineered, manufactured and tested. The Spout and Off replace present outlets that actually cause clogging. The SpoutOff retrofits to present gutters or can be installed with new gutters. The SpoutOff enables all homeowner to take a 1, 2 even 3 story downspout off their house and clean the outlet out in less than 1 minute while standing safely on the ground.
