- My research has identified and classified a new class of small RNAs in animals that plays an important role in gene regulation. The results have been published in PNAS. (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19846761)
- In my research I have identified a new mechanism of gene regulation which has not been known before. The results have been published in Science in which i am the first author. (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20522740)
- In my PhD research I have developed pipelines for analyzing next generation high throughput sequencing results. I have worked with many industrial collaborations with companies like Roche, Applied Biosystems and Illumina.
- - In my work with Premera BCBS (www.premera.com) I automated many of their letters and reports. I participated in the requirements gathering from the business leaders in the company and led a team in india over the internet to complete the solutions for the requirement and performed quality control and deployment at the client site.
- - During my summer internship at Dow Agrosciences, I analyzed maize and Arabidopsis plant genomes and set up the automated pipeline for analyzing high throughput sequencing results to identify favorable sites for inserting transgenes. This has opened up many new projects in the company using their Exzact precision technology (www.exzactprecisiontechnology.com). The pipeline is in the process of being patented
- - During my employment with Cognizant (www.cognizant.com) I rewrote Facets VC Analyzer Tool which automated identification of impacts in client software with Facets version change. This reduced need for manual analysis of several megabytes of client code and saved the company time and money and led to many new projects. For this I was given the outstanding performer award.
