I work in small collaborative groups with access to many other academics and specialized services within the university of Otago. I am located in the Centre for Innovation but am a private company. My website shows my old location in Dunedin & will be updated. I am interested in short or long term projects with a bio-engineering / bio-medical subject.
Areas Bruce Partridge is Knowledgeable in:
Optical sensors, lasers, fibre optics & wave guides, spectrometers, fluidic devices
for bio-medical diagnostics.
Techniques Bruce Partridge Uses:
Computer design and simulation tools. Prototyping and testing. Reviewing and
expert panel discussions.
Bruce Partridge's Problem Solving Skills:
- Spectrometry of bio-materials
- Optics & optical technologies
- Programmng
- Embedded control
- Electronics
- Electron Microscopy
- PCR & diagnostic technologies
Bruce Partridge's Problem Solving Experience:
- I developed equipment & methodologies for testing human red cell deformation
as part of research into the beneficial properties of evening primrose oil extract. - I developed a freeze drying apparatus for preparing chemical pellets for diagnostic PCR devices.
- I developed equipment for etching atomic force microscopy needles for creating
resizable nano-pores in flexible membranes - I developed a compact diagnostic device based on real time PCR, and suited to
specific bacteria. The initial work was done with MRSA (Staph Aureus) - I have developed many bio-engineering products and processes over 40 years of experience in university and industry.
