First and most importantly learn and education myself on the background information (i.e. read the current published literature) of the project, product, or process I am to be involved in. I firmly believe in teamwork so I interact with others in the generation of ideas to address issues and problems I am attempting to resolve. I also believe in producing a number of different approaches and strategies to solve problems in case the initial approach is unsuccessful. Persistance, hardwork, and determination are my driving forces with tasks I take on.

Chris Allen's Problem Solving Experience:
- I have taken on the roll of advisor for the community college honor society of my college and successfully guide the student chapter to acquiring numerous competitive awards at local and state-level meetings as well as assist in aiding students in acquiring scholarships to further their education.
- I have taken on a supervisory level position within the department of my college to supervise and mentor new adjunct faculty generate new ways to further develop the curriculum of the Biology classes and labs taught within the department. I am also in the process of establishing the cirriculum and offering a new genetics course within the department.
- I have independently familarized myself with and mastered the use of high aspect ratio vessel (HARVs) bioreactors to plan and inititate discovery-based research projects and publish peer reviewed scientific articles focused on the effects of low-shear modeled microgravity on bacterial physiology and virulence potential.
