Problem Solver

John L. Coulson

John L. Coulson
As an inventor I am very aware of the reputation my kind has projected throughout the business community. I can only assure you that I stand in the minority when I say I have no over bearing ego to deal with. I am certainly not a, "if it's not my way, it’s no way" type nor am I a control freak. I love collaboration and believe all involved in any successful project should be given their due. My experiences range from running substantially profitable night clubs where I acted as General Manger, Promotions Manger, M.C., D.J., Chef & Janitor to owner operator of a floor laying business to a computer repair service where I build computers, program and teach them. This current occupation and the odd consulting job serve to fund my ongoing Inventing endeavours.

Techniques John L. Coulson Uses:

I operate from a position of equality, co-operation and positive encouragement at all times. I work well individually and within groups and can either lead or follow depending upon what the circumstances dictate and who is relegated to dictate them. When problem solving, the Internet is the first best place to begin any research project. Problem solving on a grand scale is what my “Internets Most Wanted” reality program is all about! After 18 years of computer expertise I have likely read millions of WebPages and have amassed a significant amount of data that pertains to many business disciplines. I believe this information, both in my head and on my PC, will prove useful to many of your existing clients and hopefully profitable to myself. I thank you for that opportunity.

John L. Coulson's Problem Solving Experience:

  1. I have an innate ability to look at something and re-create it almost instantly. Invention on the fly as it were. With future technologies like programmable matter coming and current technologies like Stereo Lithography and Rapid Proto Typing already in use today I feel their is nothing that cannot be solved.
  2. I have acted a MC and Promotion manager for local night clubs, pubs and restaurants. I am at ease with public speaking and once entertained the idea of a career as a stand-up comedian. As an Inventor I work well with others. I teach other Inventors that just because it’s a good idea. Learn to know the difference, be honest to yourself and realistic about your idea and save the cash!
  3. I have solutions for the economy and recently sent a three page letter to the Whitehouse outlining some of them. I teach computers and various other life skills to Prof. Gerald Woods, ret. Former Professor of American History at U.C. Berkeley, Gerry also an English writing teacher continues to teach me the written English language.
  4. Driving home the other day I conceived a new Radio Control Toy add on device. This simple in-expensive should be the hottest affordable tech toy of the year and my recent concept of a solar power mechanism will put an affordable solar device atop every home where the sun shines. In 1992 my concept to link vending machines to this thing called the Internet was laughed at. Cell phone technology is still catching up to the apps I perceived decades back. In 1988 I conceived Inter-Sphere Productions Inc. It mission to deliver closed circuit concert broadcast from live venues to remote areas and basically have Friday night dance parties in a small town hall in the Yukon by beaming David Lee Roth and Van Halen live from the forum in LA.. I almost pulled it off and then was seriously injured. I believe they now call it M.T.V.? lol!! I even have letters of acceptance from U2, Madonna and a host of other very interested artist of that time.
  5. In my capacity as a computer service owner, my computer repair company, "System Surgeon" routinely solves problems for those in my local community. I have extended experience in web construction, word processing, digital editing and video production.
  6. I have cured myself of many serious aliments and at 49 am in great health, much better than when I was 35. I act as health advisor to friends and seniors. I have amassed considerable knowledge in natural and organic medicines and T.C.M. ", Traditional Chinese Medicine". With the help of local experts I am currently learning about the healing powers of local mushrooms for which hundreds of species grow in our costal forests. To the credit of my teachers and the knowledge they bring, I haven’t had a sniffle in over ten years and have cured myself of arthritis and other maladies that plagued me earlier on in life.
  7. I researched patent writing on-line and in the 31 days of March 2007, wrote and filed a 69 page document with the W.I.P.O. It was accepted and my product was deemed novel and inventive. The Capz En-Closure project is now patent pending and in the hands of a marketing firm in the D.C. area. Closures are a $32b global industry representing 1.4 trillion units growing at 6% per annum. Capz is the most innovative amongst over 3300 other filings for container closures.
  8. I have become an expert in many disciplines of Inventing and regularly act as consultant in that capacity. I am currently being promoted by VIATEc of Victoria. Their executive director, Dan Gunn has continues to tout me as a prolific Inventor to several companies. This has resulted in our growing association with a very successful Victoria businessperson and son of a well know Canadian billionaire.
  9. I have submitted in excess of 150 original concepts to UBC. I have been called a prolific Inventor by Prof. Harold Davis and am told that the students look more forward to my submissions each year than those of any other corporate sponsor. In this manner I supply the problems and then work with student groups throughout the year to solve them. The result is usually a proto type of a product worthy of the market accompanied by a 80 to 120 page engineering document complete with software codes. My company retains 100% IP rights to all the work performed for us (the sponsor) at the university and too date I estimate this work to have a value to my company in excess of Can. $2 million.
