Mark McCarthy

I currently work as a researcher in a microbiological centre, in control of a robotics platform which is employed for high throughput handling of microbial libraries. This requires basic knowledge and understanding of robotics, fundamental microbiology, metagenomic methods, computer skills, aseptic techniques, library maintenance, curator skills. Also as part of the Education & Outreach team, basic teaching methods are called upon a number of times a year where students and children are invited to the centre to take part in technology demonstrations, laboratory sessions and power-point presentations. Prior to my return to life sciences, I was employed as a network administrator for 12 months for a worldwide engineering group.
