A pneumatic, two-way, door opener that recharges itself each time the door is manually opened. This quiet system is inexpensive and poses no safety risks to those who use it. When an able-bodied person opens the door the kinetic energy, normally discarded within the door mechanism, is transferred to a series of pressurized air cylinders and stored for future use when a handicapped person requires assistance opening the same door. As this system is completely separated from the power grid it is also easy and inexpensive to install as an electrician is not required, and is ecologically friendly as it generates zero CO2 emissions.
