Profile: A post graduate in Agriculture (Entomology) with sound knowledge about integrated nutrient and pest management of field crops, horticultural crops, commercial crops; hybrid seed production of Sorghum and storage of the same.

Experience:
Ø Presently working as Mandal Agricultural Officer in the Department of Agriculture, Andhra Pradesh placed at Meliaputti Mandal of Srikakulam District since March 2009.
Activities performing as Mandal Agricultural Officer:
ü Conducting awareness campaigns about the best crop management practices.
ü Delivering of agro advisory on various crops for which the farmers are cultivating.
ü Conduction of training programmes to the farmers and Adarsha Ruthus (induction and monthly).

ü Supervising the quality of seeds and agrochemicals on a regular basis.

Ø Worked as Project Manager in Byrraju Foundation placed at Hyderabad for 7 months i.e from August 2008 to February 2009 to monitor the implementation of personalized agro advisory system, demonstration of best practices in coconut, INPM etc in West Godavari, East Godavari, Guntur and Krishna districts.
Activities performed in Byrraju Foundation:
ü Conducting awareness campaigns about the personalized agro advisory system.
ü Conduction of training programmes to the farmers, coordinators and experts (induction and monthly).
ü Preparation of technical material to the field staff to deliver advice to the farmers.
ü Conducting fortnightly field visits (regular) and field visits insisted by the farmers.
ü Conducting awareness campaigns against pest outbreaks.
ü Demonstration of best practices (proven research findings of various agricultural research institutions) in the farmers fields for adoption.

Ø Worked as Senior Agricultural Expert in IIIT under e- Sagu (Media Lab Asia Project) entitled “An IT Based Personalized Agro - Advisory System ¨ from August 2005 to July 2008 (3 years)
Activities performed in eSagu:
ü Conducting awareness campaigns about the e-Sagu project.
ü Providing agro-advisory to various problems depicted from the digital photographs sent by educated farmers (coordinators) on weekly basis.
ü Conducting fortnightly field visits (regular) and field visits insisted by the farmers.
ü Conducting awareness campaigns against pest outbreaks.
ü Provision of training to the coordinators and experts (induction and monthly).
ü Demonstration of research findings (of various agricultural research institutions) in the farmers’ fields for adoption.
ü Conducting farmers meetings to know their problems in crop management to prepare the research priorities for coming seasons.
ü Involved in preparing SOPs of eSagu process for ISO certification.
ü Identification of seed producing farmers, provision of training and monitoring of entire production process for Redgram and Groundnut seeds.

Ø Worked as Production officer (Foundation and Hybrid seeds) of grain and fodder sorghum for a period of One Year from July 2004 to June 2005 in G Tech Seed Exports Private Limited, Hyderabad.
Area of operation: Chagalamarri Mandal, Kurnool district.
Production area: 30 acres of foundation seed of Sorghum, 1200 acres of commercial hybrid production and one acre of Maize variety trial (135 lines from different companies).
Season: 2004 – 05 (Kharif and Rabi)
Activities performed as a Production officer:
Regarding Sorghum:
ü Identification of genuine seed production organizers who have experienced men and capital; who can convince the farmers to produce quality seeds.
ü Selection of potential and experienced farmers who can take up foundation seed production.
ü Training the farmers about isolation, establishment of crop stand etc.
ü Training the field officers about the production process.
ü Fertilizer management for better growth of the lines.
ü Synchronization of flowering.
ü Monitoring of various insects, diseases and deficiencies, which occur during the production.
ü Recommending the appropriate time of harvesting.
ü Monitoring of seed moisture levels from harvesting to storage.
ü Processing and storage of the seed.

Regarding Maize varietal trials:
ü Monitoring of irrigation, fertilizer application, weed management and plant protection.
ü Recording biometrical observations at 15 days interval.
ü Recording yields.

Ø Worked as Senior Research Fellow (SRF) for a period of Two years from June, 2002 to July, 2004 on contract basis under the Project NATP -RNPS-23 entitled ‘‘ Total Grain Quality Management of Kharif sorghum’’ at Indian Grain Storage management and Research Institute (IGMRI), Rajendranagar, Hyderabad – 30.

Activities performed in National Agricultural Technology Project:
ü Campaigning about improved grain drying and storage methods.
ü Identification of farmers who support the experiment.
ü Bi-monthly collection of stored sorghum samples.
ü Conducted laboratory studies on bio-efficacy of Bifenthrin as a prophylactic against four major stored grain pests.
ü Analysis of the samples for physical & chemical quality parameters.
ü Preparation of monthly and half yearly reports.

Research contribution:
In-depth study was made to identify the influence of various biotic and abiotic factors that influence the out break of Red hairy caterpillar, Amsacta albistriga Walker in rainfed Groundnut of Rayalaseema region, to incorporate cowpea as trap crop in IPM module and natural existence of bioagents that suppress the pest for effective control and reducing the cost of production. Dichlorvos and Quinalphos were found effective against the larvae of first to four instars.

Successfully completed a training course on ‘‘Analysis of Pesticidal residues in food grains ’’ at IGMRI, Hapur (UP) during April 2003.
International :
Successfully completed a training course on ‘‘Production techniques of hybrid seed sorghum’’ at ICRISAT, Hyderabad during February 2005.
