I love a challenge that cries out for a simple solution. Simple solutions are often the refinement of complex solutions into sub-packages that fit neatly together. This process of breaking the problem into pieces, solving the pieces, and putting them all together as a complete solution, is very engaging for me. It is all consuming and very rewarding.

Stewart Hulett's Problem Solving Experience:
- I designed and implemented a complex "key management" system that allowed consumers to purchase feature upgrades on hardware products on-line. The billing, key generation, delivery, and support were all built into this automated system. (These systems are common place now, but I developed one of the first in 1997)
- I coordinated the discussions of key stake holders in a complex business relationship where multiple parties had to come together in order to deliver the first commercial Voice over IP service in the United States.
- I defined and managed the engineering of "plug and play" DSL modems. Through a complex algorithm DSL modems could determine the correct settings to connect to any DSLAM (DSL network). No user intervention required.
