Problem Solver

Tej Pochiraju

I am considered highly approachable and am an excellent communicator. I prefer working in an organised fashion and it shows in my solutions.

Areas Tej Pochiraju is Knowledgeable in:

Circuits and antennas for wireless communication, satellites etc.
Programming embedded devices and interfaces
Network tools (wiki, cvs, forum etc) to enable collaboration within small clusters and companies.

Techniques Tej Pochiraju Uses:

Research - Greater understanding, helps identify common traps and avoid re-inventing the wheel.
Problem Specification Document - helps break down problem into more easily approachable sub-problems, value additions etc. Also helps delegate tasks within group. Previous clients have liked this approach as new ideas can sometimes emerge at an early stage.
Sanity checks at various stages - Easier within group, interaction with client can also help. A stitch in time saves nine.
Support tools - Our group shares information locally via a wiki and we encourage our clients to contribute. Code is stored on a CVS server alongwith documentation.

Tej Pochiraju's Problem Solving Experience:

  1. My soon-to-be-published Ph.D thesis focuses on low-cost reconfigurable radio frequency applications. I lay particular stress on enhancing architectures suitable for implementation in a variety of technologies.
  2. I helped a Northern Ireland based SME designed and programmed the UI on a touchscreen built on Atmel microprocessor for a health monitoring system. Specific tasks included Data Encoding/Storage, designing a usable and lucid Main Interface and displaying Vital Statistics on a Graph with touch based zoom functionality.
  3. In order to increase awareness and knowledge of GNU/Linux based systems, I helped establish a GNU/Linux Users Group at Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. I led the group in its 2nd year of inception while organising multiple seminars and workshops. We also hosted a well-received Richard Stallman (http://www.stallman.org/) lecture. Before leaving the Institute, I helped establish links with Red Hat Linux India to create paid freelance development opportunities for students.
  4. I helped a Northern Ireland based SME design and develop a touch based customer interaction system for use in the hospitality industry. The Linux based device is capable of communication over WiFi and 3G and features a robust, integrated user interface.
