Ben Standring's Problem Solving Experience:

  1. I developed, designed, drew and supervised the manufacture of all components (manufactured on site and by third party) of 3 new models of Multi-purpose Exploration Drill Rig for the surface mineral exploration industry. This included ensuring the safe integration of external hydraulic design in the machines structure.
  2. I developed, designed, drew and supervised the manufacture and assembly of all components (manufactured on site and by third party) relating to the fusion of a new mast structure onto a used base assembly structure forming a new Multi-purpose Exploration Drill Rig . This work involved the evaluation of which components in the used machine could be salvaged and which could not be transferred. This project was implemented in a time of harsh economic uncertainty and was required to be completed without serious error and within strict deadlines. The unique problem encountered in this project was the method of connection between the mast structure and the base assembly which utilised phenomena discovered utilising non linear structural analysis.
