Areas Elena De Falco is Knowledgeable in:

My main expertise and publications cover the stem cell area, regenerative medicine and gene therapy products manufacturing (cardiovascular and immunological fields), focusing on clinically translatable research activities for cell therapy applications.
Accordingly, I am particularly interested in developing preclinical models according to GMP regulations, including small scale ups, in vitro drug testing and screenings of novel molecules in order to investigate their potential biological effects.

Techniques Elena De Falco Uses:

surgical withdrawal, enzymatic digestion, in vitro adhesion by extracellular matrix component, real time PCR, cell and culture reagents, supplements, colony assay, immunostaining, immunofluorescence, ELISA,

Elena De Falco's Problem Solving Experience:

  1. I have developed a in vitro method to isolate and expand human mesenchymal stem cells from mediastinal adipose tissue by employing platelet lysate.
  2. I have developed and standardized the in vitro expansion of human limbal stem cells on Tenons' fibroblasts in order to obtain epithelial sheets for ophthalmological applications.
  3. I have developed and optimized a method for in vitro isolation and culturing of human Tenon's fibroblasts useful for in vitro drug screening and testing.
