I'm a creative-minded person and tend to analyse everything I come in to contact with. So I find myself problem solving things even when there's no need to. Often I surmise that the best solution is in fact already in place but it's interesting to me to work to that conclusion.

James Smith's Problem Solving Experience:
- I designed and developed a new air vent for use in the side of work boats that allowed much more air through whilst keeping water out. It was needed due to standard dorade vents not working efficiently enough.
- I helped develop a modular interior system for boats so that all of the furniture could be moved around as required. Including the toilet and kitchen areas.
- I helped develop a new electro-hydraulic power pack design for and oil recovery system that was half the cost of previous solutions whilst being better built and more effective.
