Areas John Fairchild is Knowledgeable in:

Heating, AC, Refrigeration, electrical, automotive, geothermal.

Techniques John Fairchild Uses:

On existing electrical or electronic circuits I use the old divide and conquer technique of checking the voltage or signal at various points to quickly narrow down the problem and isolate it.
On mechanical equipment I find the bad parts or things that are out of adjustment and fix them first, then look for underlying root causes for premature failures and address them.
If I run out of options to try and accomplish a set goal, I research the other possible ways to accomplish the task by consulting people that may have seen similar problems in the past and either fixed them or supplied materials or tools to accomplish similar tasks. I have many contacts at a wide variety of wholesale houses that help me with the new ideas or equipment that has come out recently that I may not be aware of yet. There is so much new knowledge being discovered that no one can keep up with it all. My willing nes to call on my manufacturers and suppliers is one of my greatest strengths. Another is that when I come upon a challenge, I am very tenacious and don't give up until I succeed.

John Fairchild's Problem Solving Skills:

  1. Electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical troubleshooting
  2. Commercial Refrigeration design and service
  3. software development and debugging
  4. Mechanical innovation (inventor)

John Fairchild's Problem Solving Experience:

  1. I have developed an adaptive control system for a low pressure steam boiler when none were commercially available and implemented it. I also designed an economizer system for some through the wall room heating units to use outside air for free cooling when appropriate.
