Areas Neil Farbstein is Knowledgeable in:

Biotechnology, Clean Energy, composite materials, nanoparticles and nanostructured materials, superhydrophobic materials, layered materials, DNA nanotechnology, molecular genetics and gene therapy, nuclear fusion, laser fusion, DPF fusion, muonic fusion, solar energy, wind energy, magnetocaloric refrigerators and electricity generators, genetically modifying plants to increase productivity, biomass, thermionics, energy storage, x ray optics, photonics and plasmonics. Photovoltaic cell design.

Techniques Neil Farbstein Uses:

Thought experiments. Analytical thought. Searching databases extensively. Calling and e-mailing scientific experts. I keep a very extensive patent notebook collection and try to attack a problem from every angle including some angles nobody else has thought of. Thinking outside the box. Testing my theories with real laboratory experiments.

Neil Farbstein's Problem Solving Skills:

  1. Inventing, database research, contract research and development, grant writing, technical and scientific editing and reports.
  2. crowdsourcing, patent writing, patent literature search, graphene film deposition, fluorinated carbon chemistry.

Neil Farbstein's Problem Solving Experience:

  1. I designed and tested a novel oligonucleotide primer for AMV reverse transcriptase. Results of contract R&D program are available and so is the nucleotide sequence.

I invented a patent pending method of manufacturing ultra high strength nanomaterials.

In my lab I discovered a novel adhesive made from carbon nanotubes that sticks to human mucosa, wet silicone rubber and subcutaneous membranes. It can be repeatedly peeled off then stuck back on like Velcro. It has applications in dentistry, dental surgery and gynecology.
