Areas Rasha Zuluf is Knowledgeable in:

I have been working in plant molecular biology for almost 40 years (even before it was a recognized discipline). I am particularly interested in how the genome rapidly undergoes restricted reorganization in response to stress and the consequences for the organism. I am involved in training efforts in Southern Africa and mentor junior faculty and students there. I enjoy innovating in teaching methods and have received grants for developing innovative courses.
For relaxation I grow vegetables in the summer and occasionally play golf with a couple of my sons. In the winter I work on home improvements, read thrillers and science fiction and watch sports on TV. I spend time with my children (most of whom live in the area) and my grandchildren.

Techniques Rasha Zuluf Uses:

I can integrate disparate facts and information to generate new insights
I use information from various sources to compile new hypotheses
I listen to differing views and assemble a more complete picture to solve the problems and then test them

Rasha Zuluf's Problem Solving Skills:

  1. Methods for screening and domestication of new crops
  2. Gene expression analysis
  3. I have experience in analyzing biotechnology businesses and a range
  4. Broad range of plant species analyzed
  5. Biotechnology Entrepreneurship education development
  6. I employ genetic analysis including QTL analysis in my research
  7. I have skills in DNA analysis by renaturation, PCR and bioinformatics

Rasha Zuluf's Problem Solving Experience:

  1. I can integrate disparate facts and information to generate new insights
I use information from various sources to compile new hypotheses
I listen to differing views and assemble a more complete picture to solve the problems and then test them
  2. I have developed a patented method for identifying molecular markers for tissue culture derived mutations
I have developed a patentable method for identifying markers that will be variable in the set of genetic material of interest
I have developed a program to domesticate a native plant used by the San bushmen
I have developed a Biotechnology Entrepreneurship program that has increased human capacity and investment within and outside the local area.
I have consulted on the release of genetically modified organisms
