Co-authored the Data Communications Implementation Plan (DCIP) for the entire project.
    – – – Network designs for the nationwide Navy project included shore-command, Naval base, shipyard, Naval information system center surveys, and detailed ship configuration surveys; and incorporated 200+immediate nodes & 15+ strategic workflow servers, and networked live video systems at shore commands, shipyards, data sites, management and medical facilities.
  2. As primary consultant for VME Sales North America, Inc. (now Volvo Construction Equipment), Installed a multi-platform Novell LAN, serving 100+ users, providing 5250 and 3270 emulation using Novell SNA/SAA Gateways to connect into the mainframes and minis of the Volvo Data Network (VDN), a world wide enterprise network, working directly with the VME CICS/VM programmers and Memorex-Telex engineers in the configuration of the SNA sessions and profiles, providing simultaneous, concurrent, 3270 and 5250 access of VDN mainframes, midrange and LAN systems in Skyland, Cleveland, Dayton, Raleigh, Sweden, Brussels, and St. Thomas V.I. -- from each PC on the VME HQ LAN.
  3. Created one of the first successful implementations in EMC’s national reseller/VAR community of a VMware Windows Server 2003 appliance as the host platform for EMC's AppXtender client-server document imaging applications for Carolinas Document Imaging, LLC (CDI) in Asheville, NC. Migrated the completed VMware VMs to the client's Vista 32-bit platform, allowing successful demonstrations to CDI’s customers and the resulting sales and support contracts.
  4. Planned and managed the downsizing and move of the PBX systems and infrastructure from one end of the 70 acre campus to the communications and server room at the other end, working closely with BASF Corporate Telecom Group and Bell South engineers, Nortel, and all local BASF departments and users to consolidate all the site's communications, which lowered the costs of telephone services for the site and improved the manageability of all IT systems.
  5. Implemented a corporate-wide, secure VoIP telecommunications system (offices, plants, SOHOs, nation-wide remote locations, traveling employees) with cost savings of over 50% per month and payback of just over 6 months, utilizing Access Point’s secure hosted infrastructure, switched VLANs, and dedicated, hybrid T1 voice and data lines. Worked closely with Basofil executives, department supervisors, end user, workers, and administrators, and Access Point engineers to achieve the optimum combinations of features, performance, and ease of administration, achieving a high level of user satisfaction and productivity within the corporation, and among its vendors and its customers.
  6. For my client, Kilntek, Inc., Co-developed, programmed, and implemented the process-control and kiln-management system for Procter and Gamble's (P&G) lumber-kiln operations, Barnesville, GA. Developed the GUI-based, real-time, graphics-controlled system in Kaye Instruments' "KView", a p-CAD, matrix and graphics-element development language, and DIGI-4 Process-Controller machine and assembly code.
  7. Provided insight and recommendations to The Smart Cube for a TEM (Telecom Expense Management) research study for one of their global chemical/pharmaceutical customers in selecting, vetting, and managing (KPI/ROI) a top TEM provider (e.g. IBM, Tangoe, Calero, including niche providers in their market).

Co-developed the $280,000 capital and $127,000 expense budget for the project. Personally managed the implementation project, including all vender relations, RFQs and RFPs, procurement, project timelines, coordination with site management, operations, and engineering, and the installation from beginning to successful completion at all SE Container locations. Selected and trained individuals (7 total) at each site as first-line IT systems and end-user support people to assist me in implementation and management of the network, servers, PCs, and WAN links.
