Areas Stuart Saunders is Knowledgeable in:

Planet / Environment - working in this area over 40 years.
Science.
Technology
Design
'Functional' societies.

Techniques Stuart Saunders Uses:

Very broad general knowledge. Studying technical media from childhood; inventing, designing, discovering.
Been on the internet many hours per day studying new tech, inventions, designs etc, since I got connected.

Stuart Saunders's Problem Solving Skills:

  1. Transportation; rail & road planning.
  2. Thermal expert.
  3. Automotive driveline & suspension.
  4. Environment; reduced CO2 by 99% (250kg fuel down to 2 kg) with a new cooker.

Stuart Saunders's Problem Solving Experience:

  1. Environment; designed and manufacture the 'KhaoLarmAtorium' a cooker for a traditional south east asian desert 'bamboo rice'. Uses only 1.8 kg of gas, vs 250 kg of coconut husk. Gold medal for Best New Environmental Product at Thailand Inventors Award.
  2. Road traffic planning; designed Pattaya bypass, which would allow traffic to cut 15 minutes from trips through Pattaya; a 'no traffic light' expressway from the Floating Market to Highway 7. Winner of Bronze Medal for best new Transport Project at Thailand Inventors Day.

Council and Transport Department appears to not have considered plan, provided to them multiple times.
  3. Transportation Planning - I designed 'YangMingShan MRT Line' for Taipei - https://vimeo.com/11785326 - which won the World Metro Summit Award in ShangHai, for Engineering Excellence. Unfortunately, this solution appears to have been 'too good' - Yang Ming Shan residents liked the idea initially, thinking 'wow, I could get to Taipei in 10 minutes.' But then they thought 'But if I can get to Taipei in 10 minutes, then all them down there (6 - 12 million) can get up here in 10 minutes'.

So a surreptitious but very effective campaign* to stop publication of it & to stop council & DORTS (Department of Rapid Transit Systems) studying it, began.

    * I am advised of this by someone who knows.
  4. Thermal engineering; I discovered that Brownian motion (a thermal effect) is visible to the naked eye, in 1963.
I invented, designed, built and tested the worlds best CPU cooler, with a ∆T of 0.167°C/W - nearly 3 times competitors best (0.44°C/W).
Built first Heat Pipe in 1994
  5. Expert on automotive driveline & suspension. Have designed a number of differentials and 4WDs; usually much simpler than others solutions.
Designed, built and tested a progressive rate, programmable rate, elastomerically isolated self damping suspension for a pair of wheels with one one moving part; 1/2 a part per wheel.
  6. Invented another device to reduce fossil fuel use in commuting by 50%, yet improve quality of life.
