- Spectral reading from biologically complex systems like live animals result in an unimaginably large data set which appears chaotic and patternless; as we derived from our pre cancer Raman studies on rat models. However, I managed to find a pattern that could explain and predict future results with modest accuracy.
- One of the biggest problems in cancer screening using Raman spectroscopy is having a animal model that will simulate the situation, and at the same time allow spectra acquisition from the site that will develop tumor after 6 months. I developed a protocol wherein we know before hand the location of a future tumor.
