Yevgeniy Petrov's Problem Solving Experience:

  1. I developed python/PBS batch scripts to analyze more than 50 TB of experimental data to extract calibration constants for precise calibration (<10ns time precision) of 1$ USD state-of-the-art particle detector
  2. I developed automated scripts for data processing and submitting into MySQL database reducing the project's latency time from 1 week to 1 day
  3. I used Cray super-computer to scale up Monte Carlo data simulation from 1 sample/day on a local machine to 500 samples/day to collect enough statistics for my PhD in reasonable time
  4. I used Maple software to dramatically (10 time) increase precision of the solution to a class of partial differential equations describing behaviour of spins in the external magnetic field
