Trunk Caddy

Summary:
A metal or plastic rod with hooks, that hold plastic grocery bags in place

Full Description:
The Trunk Caddy (spring type rod), is similar to a shower curtain rod with hooks along both sides of the rod. The ends of the rod will lay along the inside seal of the vehicle where trunk closes, to hold it firmly in place. The ends should be flat to allow the trunk to close as usual. It has the same inter springs as a shower rod, allowing for easy disassembly when not in use and can be lain on trunk floor.

The hooks allow plastic grocery bags to be hung along the rod so your grocery bags hang just above the trunk floor. Allowing bags to gently sway back and fourth until you've reached your destination. Just open your trunk, remove your grocery bags. No more bending over into the trunk to re-bag products that have spilt out due to stops, turns and gravity because bags weren't secure. Can be made in a light weight type metal or durable PVC type recyclable plastic material.

This product would be very useful for elderly people and also people with back problems.

The Trunk caddy can also be used to hang muddy cleats, tennis shoes, etc.

Another idea would be for two people to completely pick up the caddy and make one trip into the house with all grocery bags. Instead of making several trips back and fourth.

Problem this idea/invention addresses:
Prevents plastic bags from spilling products during vehicle motion
