door bell answering machine

a doorbell answering machine, it couldn't be any more simple

Full Description:
It would be a simple over the counter installation. It would replace your current doorbell. In the door frame would be a magnetic sensor, and your door would be fitted with a small magnet. You could set the amount of time it would take for the answering machine to click on. For example: Let's say you had the timer on your doorbell set for 30 seconds. If you do not open the door before the allotted time the bond between the magnet in your door and the magnetic sensor would be broken and the answering machine will not turn on. However if you do not open the door in the allotted time, the answering machine would then turn on and whoever is at your door would hear your personal greeting and be able to leave you a message. It would work just like any telephone answering machine, only it would be activated by the sensor in your door.
