Overexposure to ultraviolet radiation can increase one’s risk of skin cancer. People are mostly commonly exposed to UV light while in the sun. Topical lotions are designed to reduce the risk of developing cancer, however many individuals neglect to wear sunscreen every time they go outside into the sun. However, many people do wear sunglasses or eyeglasses on a daily basis. A protective device that can be used in conjunction with eyewear is necessary.

The device can be attached to a pair of sunglasses or eyeglasses to assist in the prevention of melanoma and other adverse skin conditions. Detailed Description Of Invention:
Nose Ultraviolet Light Protection Shield helps to protect the nose area from harmful UV rays. The assembly consists of three components. The first part is a solar shield, which may be made from thin plastic film and measures approximately .015" to .03" thick, 2” long, .75” wide at the tip of the nose, 1.25” broad at the nose sides, and .75” at the nose bridge. This shield is designed to deflect solar UV rays. It is available in a variety of colors or reflective materials. The second component is the Swivel Bar, which is designed to support the solar shield to the eyewear clip. This component may consist of a one-piece bar made from any lightweight, but durable metal. The bar may be approximately .03” to .04” thick, .56” long, and .75” wide. The bar may be bended forward and flattened at the tips to accommodate the shield and allow the shield to swivel up or down while attached to the eyewear clip. The third component is the eyewear clip, which attaches the shield to any type of eyewear, such as eyeglasses or sunglasses. The clip consists of a molded plastic device that grips the eyewear bridge and keeps the sun shield in place using a spring action. The shield may have printed logos or graphics displayed on the front for style and promotional purposes. The shield may be attached and detached quickly and easily. The exact specifications may vary.
