Cutting Device (for tree stump removal with tree or separately)

Summary:
This device features a unique ellipsoid motion, self cleaning, underground root cutting action with compensating blade geometry that optimizes the underground root cutting process.

Full Description:
A patent pending, breakthrough method in complete tree harvesting and/or thinning, making it possible to harvest in one operation - or harvest stumps separately following tree stem harvest. This device features a unique ellipsoid, self cleaning cutting action with compensating blade geometry that optimizes the underground root cutting process. The Proof-of-Concept model has been proven in trials on mature hardwood ironbarks (eucalyptus paniculata – two to three times the root toughness of Scots Pine or Norway Spruce); we’re seeking a licensee/manufacturer to develop market-ready units. A particular focus would be maneuverable, self-powered units that suit plantation forestry operations in 1st world nations.

Problem this idea/invention addresses:
Currently, when harvesting trees, the tree stumps are left in the ground. They then become a vector for disease and pest infestation. It represents a waste of 5% of the forest plantation investment and a waste of a renewable energy resource. Current methods of stump removal require very large (>20tonnes) and expensive equipment that is not cost-effective
Across the US and EU alone there are more than 650million tonnes of stumps in areas of commercial forest!

Auxiliary products or services for sale:
