3D-Printed Biosensor Offers Customized Care

3D-Printed Biosensor Offers Customized Care
Dec-11-18
A 3D-printed glucose biosensor created using direct-ink-writing could offer continuous blood sugar monitoring with less waste.

The biosensor was created by a team from Washington State University using direct-ink-writing to create a detailed, electrically conductive material on the nanoscale. Because the direct-ink method enables precise application with fewer defects, the resulting biosensor is more accurate and boasts a more uniform surface. And because the sensor is 3D-printed, it can also be easily customized to suit the needs of individual patients.
