3D-Printed Glove Protects Workers

3D-Printed Glove Protects Workers
Sep-25-19
A protective 3D-printed glove relies on a lattice design to provide support and reduce muscle fatigue during a full day's shift.

The glove was printed at JLR Gaydon’s facility with an eye towards production line workers, who often suffer the risk of musculoskeletal disorders. Based on feedback from the first prototype, a second version is in the works that integrates a foam padding polymer that absorbs impacts. The team hopes the gloves will eventually be available to workers in a range of occupations who can benefit from muscle support.
