3D-Printed Structures with Electronics Embedded

3D-Printed Structures with Electronics Embedded
Nov-17-19
3D-printed plastics with the electronics embedded within could lead to a new generation of small satellites and medical implants.

The technique, developed by a team from Rutgers University, involves using high-energy light from a xenon lamp to fuse nanowires of silver in a process called intense pulsed light sintering. These circuits can conduct up to ten times more electricity than standard state-of-the-art sensors, and the ability to embed the devices could lead to smaller and more energy-efficient structures.
