3D Printer for Visually Impaired Photographers

3D Printer for Visually Impaired Photographers
Jun-24-13
The prototype 3D Pentax printer was created to allow the visually-impaired to ‘feel’ photographed images.

Developed by Prevoteau Mathieu, the system was designed specifically to encourage the visually-impaired to explore the craft of photography. For ease of use, the camera itself features an oversized shutter button and a ring with raised logos that indicate different camera settings. Once the image has been captured, the camera can then be attached to the 3D printer, creating a raised image that allows the photographer to feel the scene they, or someone else, just captured.
