Amazon has taken Alexa further from home with their new Echo Frames smart glasses with the company’s smart assistant built-in.
Still in the beta-testing phase, the Echo Frames are designed for everyday use, and can be fitted with prescription lenses. A set of four tiny direction speakers and beam-forming microphones allow the wearer to direct voice commands to Alexa, such as setting appointments, turning on smart appliances, or getting navigation directions. A touchpad in the frame’s arm offers connected phone control, and the Echo Frame's VIP filter only lets selected messages through.
Amazon has also released a ring version of the technology in the Echo Loop, with the products currently only available by invitation through Amazon’s Day 1 Editions program.
Poker players might appreciate reverse virtual lenses showing fake feelings on eyes. An imperfect appearance because of the parallax to many observers might be a benefit here. Posted by Uolevi Kattun on October 11, 2019
